Sports project subsidy

UAB Sport wants to encourage sportive initiatives for and by students. Do you want to organize a sports activity yourself for fellow students? Then know that UAB Sport can give you a financial boost. The organized sports activity must meet certain requirements in order to qualify for subsidy. The ultimate goal of these sports project subsidy is to provide an even more diverse range of sports activities for all UAB students.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR A SUBSIDY?

Student associations, informal groups of students and individual students can apply.

FOR WHICH ACTIVITIES?

It has to be an activity/campaign/project with a sportive goal, so no pure relaxtion such as a pub crawl cycling, a cantus in sportswear,…. The activity is broadly accessible for every VUB & EHB student. The activity may not be curriculum bound, no activities that are linked to studies/training are noteligible (eg mandatory training for students physical education). The activity/project must take place within the current academic year and must always be communicated bilingual (Dutch/English).

FOR WHICH ACTIVITIES NOT?

Not for profitable activities. Not for projects with a strong political preference. Not for projects with personal purposes.

WHICH SUBSIDIES ARE POSSIBLE?

There are 3 types of project subsidy. Each project subsidy has it own terms, handling and specific conditions. However, it is recommended to apply for a project subsidy as early as possible.

  • Small project subsidy (application for maximum. 75 €)
    • Deadline for application: at the latest 7 days before the start of the project.
    • Specific conditions: at least 10 participants
  • Medium project subsidy (application for 75.01 -250 €)
    • Deadlinie for application: at least 2 weeks before the start of the project
    • Specific conditions:
      • at least 25 participants
      • Use of the UAB Sport logo on all communication
      • The organizer must create a facebook event and  make UAB Sport as a co-organizer
  • Large project subsidy (application for  250.01 – 500 €)
    • Deadline for application: at least 6 weeks before the start of the project
    • Specific conditions:
      • at least 50 participants
      • Use of the UAB Sport logo on all communication
      • The organizer must create a facebook event and make UAB Sport as a co-organizer
      • The project must be presented in the UAB consulation platform

HOW TO APPLY FOR A SPORT PROJECT SUBSIDY?

The first step is to complete the online application form below. Keep the application period in mind, because this depends on the type of subsidy you request (small, medium or large). In the application form you will have to give a description of your project / activity, as well as some smaller practical details such as date, location, start time, expected number of participants, …
For medium-sized and large subsidy applications, you also need to add a cost estimate at the same time as your application.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOUR APPLICATION?

The received requests are discussed within the UAB consultation platform. The contactperson keeps you informed of the decision through e-mail. This decision can not be disputed.

ACCOUNT / PAYMENT?

At the latest 1 month after the end of the activity, we expect a small file with:

  • a short report of the event / project (progress, number of participants, …)
  • a financial report with a clear overview of the incurred costs and income of the event + indication for which expenses the UAB Sport grants were used.
  • add invoices, bills or receipts, proof of communication (poster / flyer), as well as some photos.
